13 Cute and EASY Kindergarten Valentine’s Day Crafts

Whether you are looking for Valentine’s Day crafts for your kindergarteners at school or for your child to do at home, there are many great crafts to choose from. Here are some of the best Kindergarten Valentine’s Day crafts that are cute and so much fun to make!

Valentine’s Day Crafts for kids

Flower Handprints

If you have some red or pink paint, let your child get dirty and make some flower handprint cards! All you need to do is make some green stems and have your child stamp their hand on top of them. It is a perfect Valentine’s Day craft you will treasure forever.

Valentine Heart Suncatcher

Adding a heart-shaped suncatcher to your classroom or home is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This fun craft is easy to make and is sure to bring a smile to your child’s face as they see it hanging up each day.

You can use clear contact paper or even laminating sheets. Have your child cut out some fun shapes on pink and red tissue paper. Then, glue them onto the heart-shaped paper. Once it is dry, hang it up and watch as the sun makes the colors pop!

Heart Caterpillar or Banner

This Kindergarten Valentine’s Day craft is not as complex as you might think. You can make a heart-shaped banner with cardstock and construction paper hearts. Have your kindergarteners cut out a bunch of hearts all in the same size.

Then, glue them together to create a long banner for the classroom or to hang up somewhere at home. If you want to make a heart caterpillar, glue the top heart a bit higher up and draw in a cute little face.

Valentine Heart Wreath

Creating a Valentine’s Day heart wreath can be a fun project for kids of all ages, especially kindergarteners! Have your students cut out a bunch of hearts, or give them precut ones if you want them to be the same size.

Then, have your kids glue them together and on top of each other to create a nice little heart wreath. With these, you can make them as big or as small as you’d like!

Heart and Hand Cutout

Trace your child’s hand with the thumb and pointer finger close to the fold of the paper. Then, when you cut it out, you will have two hands together. If you put it upside down, it should look like their hands are making a heart!

This is a fun little craft project that would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. You can either leave it as is or glue it to a piece of paper to create a handmade card with the hand cutout.

Pom Pom Heart Craft

Give your child a heart cutout from cardstock or another thicker material. Then, give them a variety of red, pink, and white pom poms with some glue. Watch their creativity spark as they create patterns and make a heart full of pom poms!

Valentine’s Day Heart Name Puzzle

For a bit more challenging Valentine’s Day craft for kindergarteners, have them create a name puzzle! First, cut a big heart out of pink construction paper. Have your children write down their names with plenty of space between each letter. Then, have your students cut the heart into vertical stripes. Make sure they only cut stripes for each letter of their name, no more, no less.

Once your child has the stripes of paper, have them put together the heart like a puzzle! This craft will help them to learn their name, increase their cutting skills, and improve their fine motor control as well.

Sign Language ‘I Love You’ Card

This sign language ‘I love you’ card is perfect for Valentine’s Day! Simply have your kid trace their hand, making sure they have their fingers spread out wide. Then, cut it out. You can either fold down the middle finger and ring finger or glue them down to create the sign language ‘I love you’ sign. You can attach it to some paper and create a lovely handmade card with it as well.

Button Heart Craft

If you have a bunch of buttons in your home, have your child glue them down to create a fun Valentine’s Day heart! They can either create an outline or make the entire heart out of buttons; it is completely up to them. It works better if you have pink or red buttons, but any buttons will do.

Heart Tree

Use brown construction paper to have your students create a simple tree trunk. Then, give them all sizes of hearts for them to glue onto their trunk to create a heart tree! It is a simple but fun activity as each child will get creative with this craft and make it their own.

Pasta Necklace

Dye some pasta red, pink, and white before you want to do this craft with your child. Then, give them some yarn and the dyed pasta to create some pasta jewelry! You can have them do this freely or have certain patterns they have to follow, depending on how challenging you want it to be for your kids.

Fruit Loop Hearts

If you have some Fruit Loops, you can do a similar craft as the pasta necklace and create some heart-shaped ornaments. Instead of yarn, use some pipe cleaners to create the heart-shaped. You can use all the colors, or try to only use the red Fruit Loops to make it match all the other Valentine’s Day decor.

Toilet Paper Roll Valentine’s Day Craft

If you have a few empty toilet paper rolls, have your kids decorate them however they please! Then, add some strips of red, pink, and white tissue paper at the bottom for a fun Valentine’s Day decor. Your child can then run around with them and watch as the tissue paper flies for a fun movement activity.

There are so many creative kindergarten Valentine’s Day crafts that any child will have a blast making them! If you are homeschooling your child, try to add one of these simple crafts each day for the week leading up to Valentine’s Day. Or, choose the simplest one to have your students do in the classroom; all crafts work great at home or in school!
