Children with Emotional Disturbance
Children with ED also known as emotional disturbance or emotional behavioral disorders have many challenges. In this video, I talk about the strategies and techniques that helped me when teaching my self-contained behavioral classroom that was filled with all boys.
I learned a lot about myself as a person and as a Teacher when it came time to lead my classroom and 2 assistants throughout the school year. I’m very appreciative of what I had to offer and what the students offered me in return. Teaching children who struggle with self-regulating their emotions can be a very draining but wonderful job if done right with care, patience, and love.
How to Parent a Highly Emotional Child
Although many parents have different parenting styles that can also play a huge role in how children will act at school or home. I know this to be true because due to the different medications that children with special needs are put on it can either have a positive or negative outcome towards their teachers, peers, and even parents at home.
To help parents with emotionally intense children is to first build a relationship with them and get to the root of the problem. Counseling can also help as well as providing a great support system for them at home and school. Although there are many different things that you can do to help your child get through a bad day at school or home such as providing social-emotional learning activities. Just now that every day is a clean new slate for them and that we shouldn’t hold a grudge against them from the previous day.
