Are you a Teacher or something good at teaching others a subject or task? Well, how about becoming a Private Tutor and making over $1000 a week providing quality services to your students from the comfort of your own home or in person? But how do you become a private tutor if you don’t know where to start? Check out how I got started down below FREE of charge!
Determine your NICHE and Clientele
As a former Special Education Teacher I already knew what my NICHE would be which would be tutoring children with special needs. With niching down to only working with children with disabilities it cut out a lot of other people such as adults and children that didn’t have a disability. By niching down to a particular subject or age group people will be more attracted to your services and know exactly who and what you serve.
Determine your Rates
The price of anything can either make or break a company. But when you know your worth and value of your services it’s easier for you to charge your clients. As stated in my video below your prices determine your clientele. Why? because you honestly pay for what you get. Why do you pay for cheap services, cheap is exactly what you will get. So as a private tutor, I would charge nothing less than $50/hour.
How to be a GOOD tutor
Being a good tutor is something that you must strive for when starting. Providing customer support and services is key and crucial when starting because in the first couple of tutoring sessions, you want to make sure that the client is having fun to return for another session and also you’re giving parents the results that they want to see. Many different qualities make a great private tutor and maintaining that motivation from beginning to end can be challenging but must be maintained before hiring others if you want to scale your tutoring business.

I used to teach English as a Second Language, and I really loved doing it. But I made a c\arrier change and am now retired. Thanks so much for sharing this information. I’m going to have to look into this further
I’m thinking about doing it as an add on license this year.
