Childrens Therapy In Bucks County - We Know How To Help

5 Signs Of A Good Therapist

1.) They make your child feel welcomed and are ready to participate in therapy. If children don’t feel welcome or feel as if they can’t trust an adult than they will be reluctant to listen or trust the adult giving the direct instructions.

2.) They build a positive relationship with the child meaning the counselor is able to build a friendly yet professional relationship with the child or teen to ensure that the child can trust them with any information that is being given or received.

3.) The therapist is authentic when it comes to their life and work balance. When searching for a therapist for your child or teen ensure that the therapist is in tuned with social and cultural awareness around the world and is able to bring those positive connections to the therapy sessions.

4.) They therapist is supportive when the client is making positive goals when moving forward, and also is providing good suggestions for activities for your child or teen when participating in outside community events or tips for in the home.

5.) Lastly, the therapist or counselor is responsible but also humorous at the same time. You don’t want your child or teen with a counselor or therapist that is always uptight this won’t produce any results in therapy! when searching for a good counselor/therapist for your child you want to make sure that the child can also laugh and receive a warm welcome feeling from their therapist as well. This will help the child become more comfortable and engaging whether they’re receiving individual or group therapy.
